Quincy Compressor Model QT54-5-60V Simplex Reciprocating Air Compressor rated at 16.2 ACFM at 175 PSIG.  The Tank Mount Unit is built on a 60 gallon tank and powered by a 5 hp, 230/1/60. 230/460/3/60 (Please Specify Voltage upon ordering), ODP, standard efficiency motor with the compressor operating at 1399 rpm.

Reciprocating (Piston) Air Compressor

Reciprocating compressor piston air compressor uses to compress the air and store it in a store. Based on the number of pressure stages, piston type, a single-stage or two-stage compressor. In single-stage, only one piston is used to compress air, while in two-stage compressor, there are two pistons for air compression.
These are the most common types available in the market today. Basically, they are positive displacement compressors, and usually vary in wide ranges, that found from the fractional to very high HP. They work by pumping air into an air chamber and then reduce the volume of this chamber. The manner in which they work is very similar to a combustion engine, but more or less in the opposite way. They have pistons, valves, cylinders, blocks and crankshafts.
Reciprocating compressors are positive displacement, which means that they increase the pressure of the air by its volume. That is, they take in successive volumes of air that is confined in a closed space and elevating this air to a higher pressure. The compressor piston air compressor achieves this through a piston in a cylinder compression and displacement element.

Piston (Reciprocating) Air Compressors

Piston compressors are constructed similar to a combustion engine. The piston is a connecting rod and crankshaft, while it goes up and down in a cylinder. Valves control the air entering and discharging from the cylinder. As the piston moves downward, the intake valve opens and air to move into the cylinder. At the lower end of the piston travel, the inlet valve closes trapping the air in the cylinder. As the piston, it changes direction and returns to the top of the cylinder begins to compress the air. At the top of it stroke, exhaust valve opens and allows the compressed air leaving the cylinder.
